Converters
Convert between US, UK, and EU shoe sizes for men, women, and kids from the standard conversion tables — or measure your foot and get the nearest size in all three systems.
Shoe sizes are not formulas — they are tables. The US and UK systems are both built on the barleycorn (⅓ inch per full size); UK sizes run about half to one size below the same US size for adults. EU sizes use the Paris point (6.67 mm per size), which is why EU numbers jump by roughly 1.5 per US size. This page stores the standard published conversion table for each of men, women, and kids and looks your size up, rather than estimating it from a single equation — equations drift by a half size or more at the ends of the range.
Important: there is no single legally binding conversion table, and brand sizing varies — one maker's US 10 is another's 10.5, running shoes often fit a half size small, and kids' sizes vary most of all. Treat the result as the standard starting point, then check the brand's own chart (most publish foot length in cm, the most reliable column here) before ordering.
Measuring your foot: stand on a sheet of paper in the socks you'd wear, trace the outline, and measure heel to longest toe. Measure both feet and use the larger one. The foot-length tool picks the smallest table size whose length is at least your measurement — when between sizes, it sizes up, which is the usual advice for shoes.
Worked example: a men's US 10 is UK 9.5 and EU 44 on the standard table, for a foot of about 10.56 inches (26.8 cm). A women's US 8 is UK 6 and EU 39.
Is a US men's 9 the same as a US women's 9? No — men's and women's tables are different. A men's US 9 is roughly a women's US 10.5, which is why the category picker matters.
What does the C and Y mean in kids' sizes? C sizes (10C, 11C…) are children's sizes; when they run out at 13C the scale restarts at 1Y (youth) and climbs again. The kids' table above follows that order.
My size converts differently on another site. Who is right? Both can be — publishers round at different points and some brands publish their own tables. Differences of half a size between tables are common; foot length in cm is the tiebreaker.
